Job Description:
Kickstart your career with a life-changing experience in the retail sector! TFG is offering an exciting opportunity for young individuals to enter the job market and gain valuable work experience in our dynamic distribution centre the YES Programme.
Who Should Apply:
- Ages 18 to 28 years old
- Matric (Preferred)
- Available for a 12-month fixed-term contract
- Not previously employed permanently with a single employer for more than 1 year
- Not studying full-time during the employment period (April 2024 – March 2025)
- Not previously participated in the YES programme
- Must be able to arrange own accommodation and transport (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer orders
- Assist with customer collections and assemble items as needed
- Handle paperwork and ensure customers sign Proof of Delivery (POD)
- Perform offloading, loading, receiving, quality checks, picking, and cycle counts
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping and assist with stock counts and customer returns
- Support Quality Assurance (QA) with assessing or repairing customer items
- Count tools and manage their issuance
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric (tertiary qualification is an advantage)
- Customer service experience
- Warehouse and distribution centre experience
- Ability to work under pressure and flexible with extra hours
Skills and Behaviors:
- Organised and thorough with good communication and writing skills
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities
- Effective team player with leadership potential
- Ability to prioritize and align initiatives with organizational goals
Preference: Candidates from designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act will be given preference.
