Commanders’ Jayden Daniels Dominates in Monday Night Triumph; Bills Crush Jaguars in Statement Win
Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Josh Allen were the stars of Monday Night Football, leading their teams to emphatic victories to wrap up Week 3. In two electrifying games, the Washington Commanders pulled off a shocking upset, while the Buffalo Bills showed why they are one of the top teams in the AFC.
Jayden Daniels Breaks Out in Commanders’ Upset Over Bengals
Washington’s rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels, had a breakout performance in the Commanders’ thrilling 38-33 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The second overall pick in April’s draft, Daniels completed 21 of 23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 39 yards rushing and scored a key touchdown on the ground.
The highlight of the night came late in the fourth quarter when Daniels, facing a 3rd-and-7 with the Commanders clinging to a 31-26 lead, delivered a clutch 27-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin, despite being hit by a Bengals defender. McLaurin made a diving catch in the end zone, sealing the victory for Washington.
With the win, the Commanders improve to 2-1, while the Bengals fall to 0-3, a shocking start for a team many expected to contend in the AFC this season. No team has ever won the Super Bowl after starting 0-3.
Buffalo Bills Cruise to Dominant Win Over Jaguars
In the other Monday Night Football matchup, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills dismantled the Jacksonville Jaguars, winning 47-10. The Bills were unstoppable from the start, scoring touchdowns on their first five possessions and taking a 34-10 lead into halftime.
Allen was dominant, throwing for 263 yards and four touchdowns, all of them in the first half. His efficiency (23-of-30 passing) kept the Bills offense rolling, with six different players scoring touchdowns. By halftime, Allen had thrown for more yards (247) than the Jaguars managed for the entire game (239).
On the other side, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled, completing only 178 yards on 38 attempts and throwing an interception—his first career pick going to Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin.
With the victory, the Bills remain undefeated at 3-0 and look like one of the strongest teams in the league. Meanwhile, Jacksonville, like Cincinnati, also falls to 0-3.
