Mia le Roux Excited to Celebrate: A Heartwarming Homecoming for Miss SA
Newly crowned Miss SA, Mia le Roux, is thrilled to return to her hometown of Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape for the first time since her victory in August. The reigning queen is set to participate in homecoming events this Friday and Saturday, sharing her excitement with the community that has shaped her.
“I am so excited to be going to my hometown, Oudtshoorn, for the homecoming. It is truly special to me as I have learned the importance of community and helping one another,” Mia shared. Though born in Sasolburg, her heart lies in Oudtshoorn, where she was raised and embraced by a supportive community.
Mia’s journey has not been without challenges; she was diagnosed with hearing loss at just one year old and relies on a cochlear implant, made possible through community donations. This makes her the first hearing-impaired contestant to win the Miss SA title, a historic achievement that resonates deeply with her.
“This win is not just my win, but it’s also Oudtshoorn’s win,” she emphasized. Mia hopes to inspire others from small towns to pursue their dreams, showcasing the power of community support and resilience.
