Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant – Plettenberg Bay – Western Cape

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join our team at our Plettenberg Bay store. This role is perfect for someone who is committed to providing exceptional pharmaceutical care and helping our customers meet their medicine-related needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines. Help prepare and manufacture non-sterile medicines according to approved formulas and procedures. Support with stock management, including ordering and repackaging medicines. Accurately interpret prescriptions and ensure correct medication is provided. Offer professional advice on the use of medicines and keep up with medical aid procedures. Maintain detailed customer profiles and handle claims accurately.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric. Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification. Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Proficiency with Unisola and MS Office. Strong numerical skills and command of English, with a second language preferred. Ability to work retail hours.
Advantageous Skills:
Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations. Third language. Experience with SAP and E-Scripting. Understanding of drug and family planning, and complementary medicine.
Competencies:
Excellent communication skills. Customer-focused with strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively. Team player with problem-solving skills. Trustworthy, honest, and able to handle confidential information.
Special Conditions: Must be registered with the SAPC and willing to work retail hours. Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks. Valid driver’s license and clear credit and criminal records.
