Sam Neill’s Brave Cancer Battle: The Jurassic Park Star’s Ongoing Fight
Renowned actor Sam Neill, best known for his role in Jurassic Park, revealed his battle with stage 3 angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in 2022. Neill noticed swollen glands while promoting Jurassic World Dominion, which led to his diagnosis. Since then, he has been undergoing chemotherapy. Although his cancer is now in remission, the 77-year-old actor requires monthly chemotherapy to manage the disease.
In October 2023, Neill shared that despite his initial treatment becoming resistant, he switched to an experimental drug that has kept his cancer in remission for over a year. However, doctors warned that this treatment might eventually stop working. Neill remains undeterred and has embraced life fully, continuing to work on his career while cherishing time with his family.
“I’m prepared for when the treatment no longer works,” Neill said in a candid interview, adding that he is at peace with whatever comes next. Despite the challenges, he has no intention of giving up acting, stating that it keeps him mentally and physically engaged.
