Richard Baker KC, representing the families, delivered a powerful statement condemning those who promote unfounded conspiracy theories. He urged critics to reflect on their actions, stating that the families endured ten months of harrowing evidence presented during the trials and have no doubt about Letby’s guilt. “Those who recklessly promote conspiracy theories should be ashamed of themselves,” Baker asserted, emphasizing the thoroughness of the judicial process overseen by experienced judges and reviewed by the court of appeal.
The inquiry, led by Lady Justice Thirlwall, aims to investigate the events surrounding Letby’s time at the Countess of Chester hospital’s neonatal unit from 2015 to 2016.
