Competition Format
Sport climbing features two disciplines at Paris 2024:
- Boulder & Lead Combined (2 events – men’s and women’s)
- Speed (2 events – men’s and women’s)
The total number of medal events has doubled from 2 at Tokyo 2020 to 4 in Paris, with the boulder-and-lead tandem separated from the speed format.
Venue
The sport climbing events will take place at the Le Bourget Sport Climbing Venue in Le Bourget, a suburb of Paris. Along with the Aquatics Centre in Saint-Denis, it is one of two new sports facilities built specifically for the 2024 Games.

Qualification
A total of 68 quota places are available, up from 40 at Tokyo 2020. Each NOC can enter a maximum of 4 climbers (2 per gender) across the two disciplines. Qualification began at the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Championships, with further opportunities at continental qualifiers and Olympic Qualifier Series events in 2024.The host nation France is guaranteed 1 spot per gender in each discipline if they don’t otherwise qualify
